The difference between single-stage reverse osmosis and two-stage reverse osmosis in water treatment equipment

Release time:2025-01-06

Single-stage reverse osmosis equipment, also known as first-stage reverse osmosis, involves the raw water passing through a pretreatment system.

Single-stage reverse osmosis equipment
Single-stage reverse osmosis equipment, also known as first-stage reverse osmosis, involves raw water passing through a pre-treatment system and filter, then through a high-pressure pump, and finally sent to the reverse osmosis device, with the directly produced water referred to as single-stage reverse osmosis.

Characteristics of single-stage reverse osmosis equipment:
Single-stage reverse osmosis is a practical technology that allows certain components in a solution to selectively permeate under external pressure, achieving the purposes of desalination, purification, or concentrated separation; it can remove the vast majority of ions in water, as well as fine particles and organic impurities, making it an advanced and economical method in water treatment equipment. Single-stage reverse osmosis is mainly used by users with relatively good water quality or those with less stringent water quality requirements.

Double-stage reverse osmosis equipment
Double-stage reverse osmosis equipment, also known as second-stage reverse osmosis, is a preparation system that uses tap water as raw water. It first undergoes pre-treatment and security filtration, then enters a filter for further filtration, and is pressurized by a first-stage high-pressure pump to the first-stage reverse osmosis system. The water produced by the first-stage reverse osmosis is then pressurized by a second-stage high-pressure pump to the second-stage reverse osmosis system, and the produced water is referred to as double-stage reverse osmosis.

Characteristics of double-stage reverse osmosis equipment:
It can remove harmful substances such as particles, colloids, organic impurities, heavy metal ions, heat sources, and over 90% of dissolved salts from water, with a system desalination rate exceeding 90%. Double-stage reverse osmosis is mainly used by users with relatively poor water quality or those with higher water quality requirements.
