How to solve the noise issue during the operation of reverse osmosis pure water equipment?

The operation of reverse osmosis equipment is generally indoors.

The operation of reverse osmosis equipment is generally indoors. If the operator works around the equipment for a long time, they will definitely hear the sounds emitted by the equipment. Under normal circumstances, the sound of reverse osmosis equipment is not very loud and is acceptable. However, if you hear a very loud noise from the equipment, you need to check the reason. So how should we deal with this loud noise to better reduce the noise problem of the equipment?

The core of reverse osmosis equipment is the reverse osmosis membrane. The entire water treatment technology of the equipment revolves around reverse osmosis. After the raw water is pressurized by a high-pressure pump, it passes through the reverse osmosis membrane to become purified water, while the minerals and some impurities in the raw water are discharged through the concentrated water discharge valve.

After the raw water is pressurized, the pressure is about 0.8 MPa, and the water flows in a high-speed rotating manner, which generates a very loud noise, especially in the throttling valve section for concentrated water discharge. The concentrated water discharge throttling valve plays a very important role in the production of the equipment, as it can adjust the ratio of water production and concentrated water discharge, affecting the overall operation pressure and noise level of the equipment. After the concentrated water is intercepted by the regulating valve, the space suddenly increases due to the function of the regulating valve, and the high-speed rotating water produces a very piercing noise.

The noise generated by reverse osmosis equipment is mainly at the concentrated water discharge throttling valve, so we need to modify this part to significantly reduce the noise produced. We will connect a 32mm steel tank in parallel with a flowing channel at the concentrated water discharge throttling valve, and then add a regulating valve. The purpose of this is to reduce the rotational speed of the water, lower the flow rate through diversion, share the pressure of the throttling valve, and adjust the ratio of water production and concentrated water discharge. Through the above technical modifications, we can generally solve the noise problem of purified water production equipment, and through our practical observations, this improved equipment can indeed reduce noise.
